Most businesses are not sellable. They are jobs with a logo. The owner shows up, the revenue flows. The owner leaves, the business stops. That is not a business. That is a dependency.

If you cannot take 30 days off without the whole thing degrading, you do not own a business yet. You are the business. And no serious buyer pays a premium for that.

An owner independent business generates consistent revenue, serves clients, and solves operational problems without requiring the owner’s daily involvement.
